Antisemitism: Defining to Combat

Hate is irrational. It exists. It lies dormant in societies. And every so often it surfaces, causing damage. When hate appears, between its militants and those targeted by that hate, there is a broad spectrum of society. In this spectrum, there are two types of people. Those who are open to trying to understand and those who are closed to any explanation. These are the ones who, fueled by the militants of hate, will become legion. I try to think of my readers as the vast majority who are open to understanding and, consequently, changing their stance and preventing hate from capturing them. Thousands of people consider themselves good and idealistic, seeking a better world. The question for them is whether they feel the same knowing that by repeating well-crafted slogans that are becoming ingrained in the collective unconscious, they are channeling very harmful hatred.... The world after October 7, 2023, is not the same. The haters smelled blood and came out of their burrows. Anti-Semitism returned with a vengeance. Prejudice clouds reason. People we thought were close to us disappoint us every day. “It's not you.” But it is me, because I am what they hate or despise, but with a familiar face... This book is part of my resistance... I want to continue explaining, so that readers with judicial, political, educational, social, and ethical responsibilities can influence that change. I want to be able to convey what is happening to us.
