Blockchain in Food Retail

Ordering food online is part of people's life—but it still comes with challenges. Customers often need to share personal delivery information across multiple restaurant systems, and in some cases, that data is passed to third parties without consent, creating serious privacy risks. Also, international travelers need to perform a currency exchange operation just to place a simple food order. This book introduces blockchain, Bitcoin, and a blockchain-based solution for the restaurant sector using Lisk. By leveraging decentralized technology, it proposes a customized system that eliminates intermediaries, reduces transaction fees, guarantees privacy, and security of operations. At the heart of this work is a Restaurant Proof of Concept built upon the Lisk sidechain network, enabling fast and secure food ordering using the LSK crypto asset.
