Tres años más tarde, durante su famosa charla con François Truffaut, el cineasta Alfred Hitchcock reformularía la frase de Dalí con absoluto desparpajo: “Se nace leyendo audiovisualmente”. Hasta cierto punto estas dos máximas son una boutade, pero como toda boutade esconden en su fondo una gran verdad: nacemos como animales visuales y, a partir de ello, interpretamos el mundo desde las imágenes que nos rodean. De hecho, podría decirse que las imágenes son por sí mismas una droga. Y el ser humano que consume imágenes desde su alumbramiento es, por antonomasia, un adicto a ellas.
