Ein junger, auf Okkultismus spezialisierter Autor wird von seinem Bekannten Yanaoka gebeten, sich den Grundriss eines Hauses und Kaufobjekts anzuschauen, auf dem ein versteckter Raum zu sehen ist. Da es sich nicht um eines der üblichen "Spukhäuser" handelt, mit denen der Autor sonst zu tun hat, zeigt er den Grundriss dem ebenfalls okkultismusbegeisterten Architekten Kurihara. Dieser entdeckt noch weitere Merkwürdigkeiten und äußert die Vermutung, dass das Haus für Missbrauch benutzt wurde. Doch der Autor erkennt noch eine andere Möglichkeit. Und er lässt auch dann nicht locker, als Yanaoka vom Kauf des Hauses Abstand nimmt.
