A Textbook of Herbal Drug Technology

As per PCI Syllabus Guidelines, this book is currently running it's 1st edition.  The present book is divided in to five units. The unique feature of this book is the presentation of fundamental concepts in a simple, lucid and self-explanatory form. This book covers the basic principles and practices of Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy system. The book also emphasizes on quality, safety, efficacy, effectiveness and stability of herbal products, guidelines for standardisation of herbal drugs, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), patenting and regulatory issues of herbal drugs / products. The book also covers the areas like herbal cosmetics, natural excipients and nutraceuticals.  Each unit includes learning objectives, general introduction to the topics covered, and discussion on various concepts, basic fundamental principles / techniques / methods and their significance / applications in pharmacy with suitable illustrations. At the end of each unit a list of probable questions to be asked in semester examination is provided so as to help the student to evaluate themselves. Additionally, a list of references / bibliography has been given at the end for additional studies.
