Damit wurden jedoch ihre subjektiven Erfahrungen im Alltagsleben und die vielfältige soziale Praxis ausgeblendet. Die Autorin stellt die herkömmliche Konzeptionalisierung von Ethnizität und Geschlecht in Frage. Sie zeigt auf, dass sorbische Frauen erst durch die alltägliche Praxis und Interaktion mit Anderen ihre (ethnische) Identität aktiv konstruieren und sozial herstellen. Das traditionelle Bild eines scheinbar homogenen Sorbentums wird revidiert und dynamisch neu definiert.
