The never-ending battle in life to overcome chaos often leads to rigid structures precipitating much suffering. The systemic perspective provides us with increased behavioural latitude.Every piece of order in our lives is wrestled from the all-encompassing chaos that surrounds us. Modern systemic research reveals what the adages of old already knew: We live in a world of complex and chaotic processes. And our fear thereof leads us to establish rigid orders that in turn invite our rebellion – this is true in politics, in the family, at work, in partnerships and within our own souls. Jürgen Kriz encourages us to use this chaotic complexity wherever it has proved useful in systemic therapeutic and counselling work.
