The case of Daniel Paul Schreber was one of the most emblematic cases for Sigmund Freud, although the father of psychoanalysis never had a personal encounter with Schreber. Freud's analysis of the case was published in "Psychoanalytic Notes Upon an Autobiographical Account of a Case of Paranoia" in 1911, after reading Schreber's book: "Memoirs of My Nervous Illness (1903)". Through his work, Schreber became one of the most complex figures in the history of psychoanalysis, and his case became globally recognized once Freud analyzed it.
