›Linguistische Grenzschaft‹ als eine analytische Kategorie

Barbara Alicja Jańczak widmet sich der Erforschung des Sprachkontaktes an der deutsch-polnischen Grenze. Besonders aus sprachwissenschaftlicher Perspektive ist diese Grenze ein höchst interessanter Untersuchungsort, der sich durch eine doppelte sprachliche Diskontinuität auszeichnet. Mit der Beschreibung und Analyse der Kommunikationsstrategien der Grenzbewohner und der Kommunikationsroutinen der Grenzhändler schließt die Autorin eine Forschungslücke hinsichtlich der Untersuchung des Sprachkontaktes in Grenzgebieten, und insbesondere an der deutsch-polnischen Grenze. Obwohl es sich bei diesem Band um eine sprachwissenschaftliche Abhandlung handelt, ist er der Untersuchung des deutsch-polnischen Sprachkontaktes in multidisziplinärer Sichtweise gewidmet: Die analysierten Inhalte berühren die Gebiete der angewandten Linguistik, darunter der Interlinguistik, der kontrastiven Linguistik, Mehrsprachigkeitsforschung, Soziolinguistik, Kulturwissenschaft sowie breit gefasster Grenzstudien (Border Studies). Barbara Alicja Jańczak is dedicated to the study of language contact on the German-Polish border. Especially from the perspective of linguistics, the German-Polish border is a highly interesting object of study. By describing and analyzing the communication strategies of the inhabitants and the communication routines of the traders of the Polish-German borderland, the author wishes to fill a research gap regarding the study of language contact in border areas, and especially on the German-Polish border. Although the book is a linguistic treatise, it is devoted to the study of German-Polish language contact in a multidisciplinary view. The analyzed content touches the fields of applied linguistics, including interlinguistics, contrastive linguistics, multilingualism research, sociolinguistics, cultural studies, and broadly defined border studies.
