Der Spanische Bürgerkrieg als (Anti)Humanistisches Laboratorium

Aufgrund innovativer Massenmedien wurde die Guerra Civil nicht nur an der Front, sondern als Propagandakrieg auch international ausgetragen. In diesem Krieg der Ideen kam Intellektuellen eine Schlüsselrolle zu. Dabei ähnelten sich die Narrative und Sprachbilder beider Lager oft geradezu unheimlich. Dieser Band versammelt Beiträge aus der Geschichts-, Literatur-, Film- und Medienwissenschaft. Er beleuchtet die Ereignisse des Spanischen Bürgerkriegs – und die kohärenten oder brüchigen Erzählungen, die über ihn überliefert sind – aus spanischer, italienischer und österreichischer Sicht. Die respektiven Länder waren damals alle mit faschistischen oder mit autoritär zu nennenden Regimes konfrontiert – aber eben auch mit dem Widerstand gegen diese. Der inter- und transdisziplinäre sowie dezidiert postnationale Ansatz zielt nicht vorrangig auf eine innerspanische Analyse, sondern reflektiert die europäische Dimension des Bürgerkriegs. Due to innovative mass media the Guerra Civil was not only fought on the front but also as an international propaganda war. In this war of ideas, intellectuals played a key role. Here, the similarity of the narratives and images of both parties were merely frightening. This anthology collects contributions of the fields of history, literature, film and media sciences. It highlights the events of the Spanish Civil war – and the coherent or incoherent narratives which are conveyed – from a Spanish, Italian, and Austrian perspective. At that time, the respective countries were confronted with fascist or authoritarian regimes – but also with resistance against these. The interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary as well as decided postnational approach not only aims at an inner Spanish analysis but also reflects the European dimension of the civil war.
