Generally laboratory experiments need to fulfil certain criterions, like amount of time required, relevance to a course, understanding at a level, available materials; experiments should be hazard free, and finally motivating. The basic lacuna while performing experiments is the limited way of projecting the objectives, which makes them less attractive. Contemporary Experiments of Material Chemistry About the Author Jubaraj Bikash Baruah, M.Sc., PhD (IISc.,Bangalore) is presently Professor of Chemistry in Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. He was a founder member of Chemistry Department and also worked as its Head. He worked as Dean, Research and Development of IIT, Guwahati. He carried out research at Tokyo Institute of Technology as UNESCO Fellow and also as Visiting Professor. He published about 150 journal papers in well-established journals and presented 100 papers in Conferences. Parikshit Gogoi, Msc., MTech is a staff in Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. He has submitted PhD thesis in Chemical Engineering. He has co-authored five research papers. Abhilasha M. Baruah, MSc is also a staff in the Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. She briefly worked in Institute of Advanced Studies in Sciences and Technology, Khanapara, Guwahati before joining IIT. She has co-authored nine research papers in reputed journals.
