Cosmetic technology is a branch dealing with the advancements occurred in the field of cosmetics to enable and enhance the effect of cosmaceutical in skin. Our book is an attempt to bring in flow all the major attributes dealing with the preparation and evaluation of cosmetic, parameters considered while dealing with quality aspects of cosmetic finished products, toxicity assessment and other considering factors. The book also summarizes the use of herbal drugs in cosmetic preparations. The approach to use herbal drugs and their ingredients constantly needs revision. At present, she is Director & Dean in University Institute of Pharmacy ,Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. She is actively engaged in carrying out teaching and research in the field of pharmaceutics, Novel drug delivery, herbal cosmetic technology. She graduated from I.T, B.H.U and received Master’s with JRF-UGC and PhD with SRF-CSIR from Dr. H. S. Gour Vishwavidalaya, Sagar in January 1994. she guided Masters & 14 Ph.D degrees, wrote many books & chapters, filed patents, scientific publications with more than 1000 citations and impressive H-index & i-10 index. She received grants from University Grant Commission (UGC), AICTE and DST, New Delhi , UGC-SAP, FIST, MRP, AICTE-RPS and MODROB and CG COST. She participated in professional activities at different positions as expert , chairperson, resource person and judge scientific sessions & organizer. she also gave her services in statutory bodies at different positions like AICTE,PCI,IPA,APTI,ISP & trained NAAC Assessor. She visited abroad such as Switzerland, Singapore and UK as indian delegation. Prof. Shailendra Saraf, is presently working as Professor and Director, Institute of pharmacy and Dean, Faculty of Technology, Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur, (C.G.). He has 17 years of research and teaching experience at U.G. and P.G. level. He is a leading scientist and well-known academician. His research interest  extends from  Herbal  Cosmetics  to Herbal drug standization, Modern analytical techniques, New Drug Delivery Systems with biotechnology bias. He has published over 50 research papers  in national & international journals.
